Video Multiplexer, Video Signal Multiplexer,
Video Combiner, 2-Channel - Model 496-2C
The Model 496-2C Video Signal Multiplexer (2 Channel), or Video Combiner, doubles the transmission capacity
of a conventional video channel by combining (multiplexing) two NTSC or PAL video signals into one video signal.
Use the 496-2C to multiplex video signals at the transmit end of a video transmission channel.
A Video Demultiplexer Model 497-2C at the receive-end of the channel
separates the two combined signals for normal viewing or recording. The multiplexed video signal can also be
recorded using conventional equipment and then played back for demultiplexing The Video Multiplexer output
may be viewed directly on a video monitor. The two (2) video input channels appear side by side, each squeezed
to one-half of its original width in order to fit together in a normally sized frame. Video inputs to the video multiplexer from analog tape or line-locked color cameras must be time base corrected.
Applications
Combine Two Security / Surveillance Camera Pictures
Pictures from two security cameras can be combined or multiplexed into one signal with our Video Multiplexer,
aleviating the need for pulling a second video cable or employing a second RF radio channel. Commonly found in security cameras, line-lock is not necessary, can be detrimental to color reproduction, and should be switched off.
Record Two Video Signals on One Storage Medium or Device
Record two video signals on one tape, DVD or other storage medium or device, with the Video Multiplexer.
