The Model 443 Series Video Peak Store Series stores a video picture and then continues to update the picture with new pixels that are brighter and/or darker than those already stored.
In its Peak Detection Mode, the Video Peak Store will store a new incoming pixel if it is brighter than the corresponding pixel already stored in frame memory. Hence, it stores the brightest aspects over time of scene in front of a video camera. The Peak Store capability is ideal for capturing lightning flashes occuring over seconds or days, or showing the track of a bright object as it's moved over a dark background.
The Video Peak Store can also be set to store a new incoming pixel if it is darker than the corresponding pixel already stored in frame memory. In this mode, it stores the darkest aspects over time of a scene in front of a video camera. This Trough Storing capability is ideal for showing the track of a dark object as it's moved over a bright background, such as an ant on a sidewalk, a bird in the sky, or particulates in a fluid.
A Decay function can be activated to cause previously captured peak values to fade or decay to current-input values over an adjustable period of time. In this mode, a lightning strike will be instantly captured and then slowly fade away until only the background scene is again present in the picture. The trails of tracked objects will also fade much like contrails behind jets.
When connecting the DD443S High Definition Video Peak Store to an HDMI-licensed device, we recommend using a 6 foot Male DVI to Male HDMI Cable or Adapter.
